Virtually everyone loves fiction that takes readers to fantastical worlds where heroes, villains, technologies and philosophies clash. And in Ryan Southwick’s thrilling “Z-Tech Chronicles” series, the fantastical meets the ultra-modern.
A tech guy from Silicon Valley, Ryan is a programmer who’s been pivotal in the building of modern, world-improving technology, and the “Z-Tech Chronicles” series culls from his own personal experience and knowledge in the tech-trenches to deliver fantastical adventures. In this interview, you’ll learn about his research into PTSD, why we shouldn’t be afraid of tech, and what you can expect from “Angels in the Mist”, the latest installment of the series.
Once on the ground level of agile software transformation, as well as a former radiation therapist who helped treat cancer patients, Ryan has been in software development for thirty years, making everything from games to mission-critical business applications to help fight cancer. At LA BookFest, he spoke on the panel “The World Is Getting Closer”, which you can watch on the Books That Make You YouTube channel. He also likes to fly drones -- sometimes over ancient volcanoes.
