Technology is incredible. We can spend so much time playing immersive videogames such as Second Life or Animal Crossing, browsing social media or Zooming. And what about ensuring passive income by letting someone to use our computers to mine bitcoins. And integrating VR and AR just makes it so we never have to leave our homes! It’s all such an amazing experience, isn’t it?
We don’t sacrifice anything because of it, right? No. Of course not. Well…
Enter Edgar Scott, author of the dystopian novel 418: I Am a Teapot.
Edgar Scott is an economist-turned computer scientist. For over 20 years, he served as a Senior Database Administrator and Development Operations Team Manager in the crypto-currency, financial and medical industries. His experiences have taught him that people’s narrow beliefs very often imprison them in a life they don’t want to live, hence the themes in 418. Born in Houston but brought up in Canada, Scott now resides in South Florida with his wife, where he explores the true cost of technology on humanity in the future.
