Ah, epic space adventures, those celestial, swashbuckling sagas and galactic adventures. While obviously set in space, the space opera sends readers upon larger-than-life, larger-than-any-world stories full of romance and even hints of melodrama.
Today, we talk to one of our favorite authors of science fiction, Lon E. Varnadore, about his series, Junker Blues, about his love for this space opera subgenre, and why in general he's attracted to darker speculative fiction. Lon is a former guest of ours, too, from 2018, when he discussed his novel "Mostly Human". His work also touches on military sci-fi and mystery noir.
